 Activists seek to legalize marijuana in hippie haven of Nepal

Nepal is considering legalizing the marijuana that made it so famous in the heyday of “flower power” as the final destination of the 1960s hippie trail.

Activists have introduced a bill in parliament to legalize marijuana for medical use, initially for patients with serious illnesses who need pain relief.

                                 

It is not known how much support the bill will attract but it is gathering momentum. Some politicians say it is time for a change, especially as many other countries have already legalized medical marijuana .
